Where have all the mugs gone?

A long while ago I wrote on here about having to hunt for floor cleaner as Ash had taken to putting it in different cupboards, sometimes in the kitchen and sometimes in the utility room but never where I thought it was going to be.  Three days ago I went to get a mug from the tree which sits on the work top in the kitchen only to find it bare.  I looked in the dishwasher only to find it empty so no joy there and stood scratching my head for a while until I thought to open the cupboard where we keep all the spare mugs.  Does anyone else have one of these?  I keep the nicest (matching) mugs out on show and then have overflow ones tucked away out of sight.  I have no idea why I do this as we never use those mugs and they are mostly ugly but for some reason I can't bring myself to throw them away.  Anyway I opened the cupboard and there were all my lovely matching mugs piled up and teetering on top of the ugly ones while the mug tree sat completely empty in full view.  This has been happening a lot lately.  I go to retrieve the grater from the cupboard where it has lived for years and it's moved to a place on the opposite side of the kitchen;  the tea bags are now kept in the bottom drawer of a chest in the kitchen instead of next to the coffee in the cupboard above the kettle; one particular frying pan that I use on a regular basis moves, after each cooking session, from cupboard to cupboard to cupboard in various different locations; yesterday I got home from lunch out with friends completely full from everything I'd eaten so decided to cook spaghetti bolgnese for Ash.  Did it quickly, got the pasta cooked then went to get the colandar from the place where it's lived for the last 10 years and it was nowhere to be seen!  I searched high and low, opened cupboards and drawers, searched from room to room and finally found it next to where it's usually kept but buried underneath a pile of bowls we haven't used for months.  Note to self, locate everything needed to prepare a meal before I start!

David just leaves lots of things he wipes up on the worktops as, after 44 yrs of marriage and 32 yrs in the same house/kitchen he’s ‘not sure where they go’ 🙂. You’re right about getting everything you need together before cooking!
