What I find really difficult about this life we're leading is the total uncertainty of how our days are going to go. We can start the day heading in one direction and suddenly, without warning, swerve onto a completely different road. Every morning I wake up and carefully watch to see how we're going to start and then just try to follow the signals but sometimes I get it so wrong I'm left in complete confusion as to what happened. What's even more difficult is that these experiences usually follow a brilliant day where everything seemed on track. Yesterday was one of those days and this morning was one of those mornings. We started off ok but I was fooled into thinking a chance remark which led to a short discussion was heading down a conversation route. How silly of me. I really need to remember that there are no conversation routes nowadays, only cul de sacs. Soon we were in the middle of some heated (on Ash's part) 'discussion' on when we were going to collect a mower from my mum's (Saturday), who should write this in the diary (Ash) and why I should have nothing to do with any of it (I confuse things). I'm not a saint and I was so tempted to argue, shout and storm out but I've learnt that none of these things help so I went for a run in the sunshine instead. I didn't feel much better when I got back but Ash did so we were soon back on track and all was right in his world which is really all that matters at the moment.
