Is it really only 4pm?

I nearly didn't write this post because it's so dark I thought it must be almost supper time.  Luckily I looked at the clock to find that not only is it not supper time but we actually have two and a half hours to go before I need to start cooking.  So what to write about on a dark, grey and rainy afternoon?  Should I tell you that the shopping trip this morning went well even though we needed a wheelie basket instead of the usual trolley or should I talk about the lovely chat I've had over a cup of tea with a friend this afternoon?  Should I tell you that yet more new clothes have been delivered and I'm now wearing a t-shirt which tells me to 'Smile every day' which will be quite easy as it's a size 'S' and that's very exciting for someone who hasn't been that slim for at least thirty years? Should I tell you that I'm about to pay for the new car which will mean it's very real even though I'm not collecting it for another 18 days?  Should I tell you that I tried on the size 12 jeans this morning and I'm so almost there with them that I can't quite believe it?  All of these things and more have put a smile on my face which has stayed there all day and life, even with it's ups and downs, is pretty good right now.  Of course there could be an update to this post as there was to yesterday's but as long as the good times keep outnumbering the difficult ones we'll survive.

I've been losing weight too -- hoping it will help my heart a bit (I have congestive heart failure). I'm only 5 pounds away from the goal I set 5 months ago, so now I find myself wondering where I should set the new goal. I have a growth on/in my pancreas so I know the weight loss isn't all my dieting effort, but I'll take it, nonetheless. Blessings to you and congratulations on your weight loss. We'll keep at it!!

It really does give a sense of achievement doesn't it! The best thing I think is that I'm doing it entirely for me and so the benefits are entirely mine.
